Some of this type of card almost looks like a miniature picture frame where your photo slides right inside of it or it might be the type where the photos are on the face of the card. Another all time favorite card is the musical greeting card. This card will play music or sound when they are opened. Some of these cards will even let you record a short greeting or song. Luckily for my family and friends I havent sent any cards that I recorded myself by singing a song for them. One of the newer type of cards and growing more popular all the time is the Electronic Greeting cards or E-cards as they are sometimes called. The animation that goes into some of the electronic greeting cards I have received is really impressive and almost like watching a mini-movie.

You will need a computer, printer, camera or scanner, paper stock and envelopes, inventory and business software to run the company, invoice stores or clients, make business cards and promotional material What are some of the legal issues I need to be aware of when starting a greeting card business? Depending on where you live and what the laws are for your area, you may need to register your business and copyright your products and names used. You should contact your local government business office or do some research online to ensure that you know the necessary legal steps required in your area.
By the early 1400s, handmade paper greeting cards were being exchanged in Europe. The Germans are known to have printed New Years greetings from woodcuts as early as 1400, and handmade paper Valentines were being exchanged in various parts of Europe in the early to mid-1400s. However, by the 1850s, the greeting card had been transformed from a relatively expensive, handmade and hand-delivered gift to a popular and affordable means of personal communication, due largely to advances in printing and mechanization. This trend continued, fuelled by new trends like Christmas cards, the first of which appeared in published form in London in 1843 when Sir Henry Cole hired artist John Calcott Horsley to design a holiday card that he could send to his friends and acquaintances. Technical developments like color lithography in 1930 propelled the manufactured greeting card industry forward.
You, your family and friends will eliminate those negative feelings associated with throwing out cards and create a common bond through participation in this new tradition. I personally know a family who passes a gag birthday gift with an attached card around to each family member as their birthday comes up. Talk about a reusable gift and card. There are many ways that we keep in touch with our family and friends, such as e-mail, text messaging and phone calls. But the majority of people in the US say that they prefer receiving a greeting card because it makes them feel special.
