There are a lot of patterns and ideas available on the internet so all you need is a little time to start searching and creating. I have seen cards created with scrap paper, macaroni, string and a little paint, so you dont need a fortune to get started. Greeting Cards are an essential part of a gift, if not given as the gift itself. They have been used for years to show your feelings and to say the words many of us cant seem to find. There are many types of greeting cards for just about every occasion one can think of. With technology there are so many options as far as the way you want to give the card and what it will look like. You can offer greeting cards for special occasions, birthdays, and anniversaries, amongst many more other reasons.
Last Christmas was an excellent year for receiving Christmas cards. It seems that the Hallmark cards and American Greeting cards get more elegant each year, and this year I had a bunch of them. At the end of the season I took them all down from the display and looked at them one more time. With an achy heart I placed them in the trash can and thought about how many landfills are lined with a thick layer of discarded cards from thoughtful family and friends. Virtually all of them were in excellent condition other than the added writing from the sender. Well, something inside me clicked and I got to thinking. Shouldnt someone who is important to me receive a greeting card, then be able to resend the card to someone else who is important to them? Making greeting cards reusable turns greeting card recipients into greeting card senders.
There are all kinds of beautiful variety, heartfelt and humorous. They are just a great way to show your love, and as sometimes its hard to find the words, they say it all. There are also anniversary cards for people celebrating major anniversaries where they have big parties or even renew their vows, such as 25th year anniversaries or 50 year anniversaries. So there are cards that can be given by other friends and family to help them celebrate this major point in their lives.
So far weve discussed very happy and joyous occasions that you can offer card as a congratulations to and thank you too, however, there are somewhat sad reasons to give cards as well. If there is a death in the family, a condolence card is given to show your support and love for the person suffering the loss. Other fairly sad are the I Miss You or Going Away which are either when someone is leaving a workplace or city and are offered by friends and family or co-workers. These are usually very emotional times and the cards are heartfelt and sincere, especially when its most difficult to find the words to describe your feelings.
