So far weve discussed very happy and joyous occasions that you can offer card as a congratulations to and thank you too, however, there are somewhat sad reasons to give cards as well. If there is a death in the family, a condolence card is given to show your support and love for the person suffering the loss. Other fairly sad are the I Miss You or Going Away which are either when someone is leaving a workplace or city and are offered by friends and family or co-workers. These are usually very emotional times and the cards are heartfelt and sincere, especially when its most difficult to find the words to describe your feelings.
So you have spent a ton of time designing your own greeting cards for the people you love. Your family and friends have all said they are better than Hallmark and you should go into business for yourself selling greeting cards. That sounds good to you because then you could be your own boss, be doing something you enjoy doing and share your talent with the world. The question is how do you start a greeting card business when you are a beginner and you dont know what steps to take after designing your cards?
You can find just about anywhere for purchase. Of course the most popular place you can find greeting occasions such as birthday and anniversary is the grocery store. However, many other stores offer, such as bookshops and stationary stores. Also you can find all kinds of greetings in places that offer souvenirs, here you can find more related to the location you are currently at. With most holiday card you can actually find in bulk boxes so you dont purchase each one individually, as its well known that over the holidays you tend to send the most greetings. In most cases however, you can find greeting cards online at a much cheaper price, but you need to consider the wait it will take to receive them. The easiest, cheapest, and fastest way to get a greeting card and send it out to the receiver is by using e- cards, many are offered for free and you have endless options.
Do you need any new software or equipment like printers? What kinds of paper and decorations will your cards use and how much will the equipment cost that you need to start out? Competition and Demand for Product - Who are your competitors? What do you offer that your competitors do not? How will you make your product unique so that you offer something that is not available now to potential clients? Are you planning on marketing to businesses? Are you planning on marketing with a website and running your business completely online or will you be marketing to companies and stores with your product on shelves? Who already sells products like yours and can you compete with those who are already selling similar products?
